Ed Tang & the Chops
By Leslie Snyder
A long walk down memory lane begins in Asbury Park, New Jersey from an independent aggressive-folk/Americana quintet called Ed Tang & the Chops. This whimsical and passionate quintet sings songs about the simple pleasures of life while sounding similar to folk icon Bob Dylan with the “raspy” vocals and “groovy” aggressive-folk/Americana melodies. This collection of music will surely get one’s toes tapping. Ed Tang & the Chops will release their new self titled EP on June 7, 2014 featuring five heartwarming tracks that will include the entire quintet playing together.
The heartwarming journey begins with the first track “When Death should find us.” This track features “raspy” vocals and “rustic” aggressive-folk/Americana melodies. This track is a soul bearing, but “haunting” tale about a man who lives his life to the fullest. However, the man knows that death will come and he wants to die doing his favorite occupation which is playing music in “full throttle.” The man wants to be remembered as a “fun loving” person. Meanwhile, the heartwarming journey continues with both reflection and sadness in the third track “Brothers in the Way Back.” This track features sorrowful vocals and “weeping” aggressive-folk/Americana melodies. This track is a “heart wrenching” tale about a man who is really missing his family and friends from the past. The man had a lot of fun when he was younger. The man knows that he cannot go back to the past. So, the man cherishes those fond memories from his past.
Finally, the heartwarming journey ends with a glimmer of hope in the fifth track “Leaving of Liverpool.” This track features soulful vocals and “bubbly” aggressive-folk/Americana melodies. This track is a hopeful tale about a man who is leaving the town he loves in order to pursue his “rock and roll” dream. The man strongly believes that his goal is realistic and his future is looking bright.
Ed Tang & the Chops are a great independent aggressive-folk/Americana quintet that sings songs about life’s simple pleasures in a lighthearted manner. The quintet’s self titled EP will put huge smiles on the faces of many fans of folk and Americana music with its “groovy” melodies.

Slam suzzanne by leslie snyder

Slam Suzzanne
“On the Floor with Your Mom”
By Leslie Snyder
Anger oozes out of Seattle, Washington from a raucous independent skater punk/metal quartet called Slam Suzzanne. Slam Suzzanne sings songs about the absolute disrespect of authority, the “pitfalls” of constant partying, and the adjustment from the teenage lifestyle to adulthood with an obnoxious attitude sounding similar to The Ramones and Metallica with their “screaming” vocals and “thunderous” punk/metal melodies that sound like a freight train rolling down the tracks.
Slam Suzzanne released their re-mastered version of the CD “On the Floor with Your Mom” on April 20, 2014 featuring fourteen “ear piercing” tracks that will literally make one’s neighbors run for cover. This raucous quartet began their journey with a heavy underground following in the early 1990’s because of the “brooding” nature of the music that was coming out of Seattle during that period of time. However, Slam Suzzanne had their own “brash” and loud view of the world around them. This collection of music is relevant to today’s music scene because it gives punk rock fans a voice and a glimmer of hope.
The angry journey begins with the first track “No Food.” This track features “screaming” vocals and “thunderous” punk/metal melodies. This track is an obnoxious rant about a group of young kids who are feeling disrespected, or “starved” by those individuals who are in authority. These young kids are mad at the world because no one seems to care about their fears and needs. Meanwhile, the angry journey continues in the fifth track “Get Out.” This track features more “screaming” vocals and “brooding” punk/metal melodies. This track is an agonizing tale about a young man who is getting really tired of a party and the rowdy people who are making a huge mess in his house.
Finally, the angry journey ends with a walk down memory lane in the sixth track “Skate.” This track features “gritty” vocals and “thunderous” punk/metal melodies. This track is a reflective tale about a man who misses being a teenager and being able to ride his skateboard whenever he chooses to do so. However, the man realizes that adulthood carries a lot more responsibility.
Slam Suzzanne is a great independent skater/punk metal quartet. They are not afraid to speak their minds with loud and obnoxious melodies. This raucous quartet’s latest CD “On the Floor with Your Mom” will let people know that it is okay to be who they want to be and to have a great time.

Guns Out At Sundown
“Fear Not the Fallen”-“Cowboy Killer” (Single Review)
By Leslie Snyder
Fear is unleashed out of Oakland, Maryland from an unsigned hard rock quintet called Guns Out at Sundown. This “hard charging” quintet sings a song about living life on one’s own terms while sounding similar to Pantera with their “snarling” vocals and loud, “grinding” metal riffs that sound like a freight train “barreling” through a busy city. The fearful story is told in the “thunderous” single “Cowboy Killer” which is from the quintet’s second CD “Fear Not the Fallen.” This CD was released in 2012.
This track is an obnoxious rant about people who have no respect for authority and choose to live their lives on their own terms. These people refuse to be “stepped on” by the bureaucrats in society. Guns Out at Sundown are a fierce unsigned hard rock quintet with an unapologetic attitude. Guns Out at Sundown will make fans of “old school” hard rock music very proud. The quintet’s unapologetic philosophy about life will let people know that it is all right to live one’s own life.
