This past September the Philadelphia band Taggart self-released their fourth album For What It’s Worse. Please accept this free download code: http://www.taggart.bandcamp.com/yum : Enter code 7vlc-xj89

Taggart has been a band for over 15 years and has featured the same four members since 1998. Their first release, 21, started out as a 10 song cassette they self-released in 1997. In 2002 the 12 song Parts Of My Bicycle Are Made Of Chrome cd was released on the then Face Down Records label, now just FDR. In 2008 they self-released Pink Pig Stink – 10 Years Of Taggart Covers, Demos, And Z-Sides: 1997-2007 a 24 track cd that combined live demos and radio performances with previously released tracks from various record label compilations and tribute albums.

In 15 years Taggart has played pretty much every bar there’s been to play in Philly, mostly the Khyber, Northstar, M-Room, Middle East, Upstage, both Pontiac Grill & JC Dobbs and festivals like the 2nd Street Festival, the Trenton Avenue Arts Fest & Philly F/M. Aside from headlining most of their shows some of the more notable bands they’ve opened for are Portastatic, Tommy Stinson, Burning Brides and their local heroes Caterpillar and the Photon Band. Two Decembers ago at the World Café they opened for Grant Hart and then backed him on a few Husker Du songs.

Taggart is one of the longest running bands with all the original members in the history of the Philadelphia music scene. They’ve never taken any breaks and remain as active as ever. There is a lot more information on the band at their website http://www.taggartrocks.com including pictures, streams of all their albums, past setlists, and complete videos of several live shows. You can stream the new album here: http://taggart.bandcamp.com/album/for-what-its-worse.
