“New American Drugs” (Clean)-Single Review
By Leslie Snyder
Darkness hovers over Columbia, South Carolina from an unsigned alternative rock quintet called Nepotism. Nepotism sings an ominous single about one of the “evil” sides of society which is the drug culture. Nepotism released the “hard hitting” single “New American Drugs” (clean) on November 12, 2013. This track is an ominous and “gritty” tale about troubled individuals who need to use drugs in order to feel better. These troubled individuals feel like “outcasts” in society. So, these troubled individuals feel like they need to engage in undesirable activities in order to escape the emotional torment that they are feeling inside of themselves.
Nepotism features heavy, “grinding” alternative rock melodies and sorrowful vocals that will bring out the “gloomy” nature of the track. Nepotism sounds similar to Rage against the Machine with their dark alternative rock melodies. Nepotism is a great unsigned alternative rock quintet that is not afraid to sing about the “pitfalls” of substance abuse and what it has done to American society.
