“You Are Everything or the Art of Being Nothing in Particular”
By Leslie Snyder
Anger and heartache burst out of Austin, Texas from an unsigned pop/folk rock solo artist named Matthew Squires. Matthew Squires and his various musicians called The Learning Disorders released their latest CD “You Are everything or the Art of Being Nothing in Particular” on October 8 , 2013 featuring nine “heart wrenching” tracks about anger and heartache. Matthew Squires sounds similar to The Dave Matthews Band, but with “moaning” vocals and “weeping” folk pop melodies.
The sad journey begins with the second track “Claim Your Birthright!” This track features “moaning” vocals and “weeping” piano melodies. This track is a heartbreaking tale about a person who is longing to be loved. However, the people that this heartbroken person has been around truly do not care about this heartbroken person. Finally, the sad journey ends with heartache in the sixth track “Lovesick Lullaby.” This track features sorrowful vocals and light “weeping” acoustic melodies. This track is a “heart wrenching” tale about a man who is deeply distraught over his girlfriend leaving him and wanting to live her own life.
Matthew Squires and the Learning Disorders are a great unsigned pop/folk rock band who mix modern pop and “breezy” folk rock melodies with brilliant musicianship. The CD “You Are everything or the Art of Being Nothing in Particular” will let people know that life is not always “warm and fuzzy.” Life can be a very cold and lonely place.
