“The Razorblade Diaries” EP
By Leslie Snyder
Heartache oozes out of Long Island, NY from an unsigned rock/hard rock quartet called Revel 9. Revel 9 sings songs about heartache and inner turmoil while sounding similar to Three Days Grace and Shine down with their soulful vocals and “blistering” hard rock melodies that will make a person shiver. Revel 9 released their debut EP “The Razorblade Diaries” in 2010 featuring six “bone chilling” tracks.
The lonely journey begins with the first track “All I’ve become.” This track features soulful vocals and “brooding” rock melodies. This track is a gloomy tale about a troubled man who is trapped under a cloud of darkness. However, the troubled man is trying to find hope in his life in order to become a better person. Meanwhile, the loneliness continues in the fourth track “San Jose.” This track features “gritty” vocals and “thundering” hard rock melodies. This track is an obnoxious rant about a man who is tired of his girlfriend treating him badly.
Finally, the lonely journey ends with sadness in the fifth track “Without.” This track features sorrowful vocals and dark, “grinding” hard rock melodies. This track is a heartbreaking tale about a couple breaking up. The man wants his girlfriend to stay, but she wants to leave.
Revel 9 is a fiery unsigned rock/hard rock quartet that sings about heartache and inner turmoil with brutal honesty. “The Razorblade Diaries” EP is a thunderous collection of music.
